Now that the New Year is here and the busy Holiday season has come and gone, it’s time to take a look back at the previous year! 2017 was an incredible year for Alarm Systems. Let’s spend some time remembering the highlights!
February – Honeywell Lyric
Take control of your home with the Honeywell Lyric. This panel brings a full featured smart home to your fingertips, all controllable from your connected devices. Learn more about the Honeywell lyric on this previous blog.
May 31st-June 1st – Habitat for Humanity
“Habitat Canada brings communities together to help families build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership.”
Alarm Systems along with many other local community partners participated in a Habitat for Humanity build in Belleville. Over two days, we sent two teams to assist in the building process. We also installed security systems in each home with one year of complimentary monitoring included!
June 13th – Good Baby Box Food Drive
Run by the Community Development Council, the Good Baby Box program provides affordable baby food and supplies to families in our community. They hold an annual food drive to boost donations that help to sustain the demands of the program.
Driven entirely by employee donation we made a contribution of 615 jars of baby food and an additional $55.00 that remained after purchasing the jars.
June 22nd – 5 Diamond Monitoring
We are so proud to have renewed our “5 Diamond” designation from The Monitoring Association (TMA). Within Canada, fewer than twenty monitoring stations have achieved this status. We feel this is an achievement that sets our company apart, and we owe so much of that to our world class staff!
“The TMA Five Diamond designation means, in particular, that a monitoring company has demonstrated an exceptionally high degree of responsibility to their local community and their customers through the investment of time, money and commitment to quality operator training. Operators serve as the life-saving link between residential or business properties and the police, fire and emergency services in local areas.”
July 7th – Move to Adam Street
It was years in planning and 11 months in the making, and it was all worth it. Our new facility by Bel-Con is absolutely stunning, inside and out. We can’t thank Bel-Con and everyone who came together to make this renovation happen enough. We couldn’t be happier!
September – Numera Libris
In September we began carrying the Numera Libris. This device is a Personal Emergency Alarm that is GPS enabled. Do you have an elderly parent living an active lifestyle or employees that work alone in risky environments? If so these devices could be a life-saving solution in the event of an emergency
September – New Falcon Security Vans on the Road!
October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month
So many people are impacted by this disease. 1 in 8 Canadian women will be diagnosed in their lifetime. Whether directly or indirectly, most people’s lives have been touched in some way by Breast Cancer.
In support of this cause, the Alarm Systems Family’s raised money through $5 jean Fridays, a bake sale and a 50/50 draw. In total our employees raised $1262.00 to support breast cancer research.
October – T.A.S. Wins CamX Award of Excellence, Top Ten – Onyx Plus Level (21 years)
We our so proud to include T.A.S. Communications as part of the Alarm Systems family. The T.A.S. Call Centre works with clients across Canada and into the United States. An industry leader, T.A.S. offers their clients cutting edge solutions to meet unique Telephone Answering Service needs. We are ecstatic to be welcoming the T.A.S. Communications into a state-of-the-art facility at our newly renovated Adam Street location at the end January!
“The Award of Excellence program is a ‘mystery caller’ program that offers CAM-X members the opportunity to have their call centre agents evaluated by an independent panel of judges, over a 6-month period. The mystery callers will conduct a test call based on the client profile information members provide when registering to participate in the program.
At the completion of the program, two independent judges will listen to the call recordings and assess a score based on a pre-determined point scoring process. Only companies who achieve an overall score of 80 percent or higher will receive the Award of Excellence, presented at the CAM-X Annual Convention & Trade Show.”
November – Honeywell Circle of Excellence Award
“Presented in recognition of dealers that display quality service and have embraced the Honeywell authorized dealer program.”
November – Honeywell Community Service Award
“For over a decade, Honeywell has been recognizing authorized dealers who are committed to community service. From attending child safety days to sponsoring holiday toy drives, we appreciate all of your ongoing efforts to support your local communities.”
