To show our ongoing support to the Belleville General Hospital (BGH) Foundation, Alarm Systems participated in the ‘Pink In The Rink’ event at the Belleville Bulls home game on Saturday night, Feb. 21, 2015.
“Pink in the Rink” is a hockey event that raises funds for cancer in communities across North America. All proceeds from Saturday night’s fundraising are going to BGH Foundation in support of cancer care in our community. In the Oncology clinic at BGH, when a patient completes his/her final chemotherapy treatment, he/she gets to ‘ring the bell’ that signifies a celebration of survival!!!!
Cow bells were ringing Saturday evening each and every time the Bulls scored!
Alarm Systems pledged $1,000 for cancer care in our Community for every goal the Bulls scored. It was a night of giving for Alarm Systems and a night of winning for the Belleville Bulls as well as cancer care at BGH. The Bulls put 5 pucks in the net by the end of the first period and finished with a total of 6 goals resulting in a donation of $6,000 from Alarm Systems to BGH Foundation.
This fundraiser was particularly meaningful to Kristin Crowe, The President of Alarm Systems. As a survivor of cancer, Kristin has often relied on many of the services at Belleville General Hospital.
“As a cancer patient, you require the expertise and care of so many departments within your health care facility. Oncology being the most obvious, I have also spent a great deal of time in Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency, and Surgical Services. Each of these areas has very specialized equipment needs. ” said Kristin, “You never know when YOU or someone you love will require these services. That’s why I support Belleville General Hospital Foundation.”
